The Hanson Residents
"Robert and Renee are awesome people! Robert is honest and a great builder to work with. We handed him a challenge and he more than met our expectations, he exceeded them. His word is gold! Let’s put it this way, he is very busy. Why??? He is good. Others can start your project in 60-90 days. WHY??? Nobody is hiring them and the commitment is not there to their clients. Not so with Penland Builders. Get on his calendar, yesterday!"
Paul Price (Clay County Historic Courthouse)
"Penland Builders was our general contractor for the restoration of the Clay County North Carolina Historic Courthouse. Robert, his crew, and the subcontractors he used did an excellent job preserving the historic character of the building while meeting all current building codes and safety requirements. He finished the project on time and on budget while experiencing several structural issues that were unknown. A first class organization by all accounts."
"I received Robert Penland’s name from a local realtor in Hayesville, NC who helped my wife and I purchase some property there. We are building on this property in phases. A Garage/Apartment was our first phase. All through the process Robert and his Team at Penland Builders, Inc. were great to work with. We were concerned as an absentee builder how well this process would go. Communication was key and getting a hold of Robert or Jared Shook, the project leader, was not difficult. This was also our first build project in North Carolina. So we had to rely on Robert’s expertise and experience. Each of Robert’s recommendations worked out perfectly. We did make infrequent visits to check on the build project. Any issues we had, there were few (We have not experienced a build project that doesn’t have issues!), were addressed with expediency and care. The project was completed on a timely basis and we appreciate the craftmanship and professionalism we saw in the Penland Builders Team. We will certainly be using Penland Builders, Inc. on the remaining build projects we have in Hayesville, NC."
